I absolutely love hosting parties almost as much as I love a good theme! This year, I decided to host my girlfriends over for a little Galentine’s Day Brunch! If you’re not sure what Galentine’s is it’s basically celebrating Valentine’s Day but with your girlfriends! I have the most amazing ladies in my life and I wanted to take some time to celebrate what they mean to me.
For the past few weeks I’ve been slowly picking up decor. I’ve found this is usually the best way to source for a party! That way, you don’t feel forced into settling on anything just because it’s all they had at the store. I’m so happy that balloons have made a comeback because they make a big impact for a reasonable price. These foil heart balloonswere just $8 on Amazon. I also picked up little odds and ends from Dollar Tree – macaron bowls, straws, flower vases, XOXO votive, heart candies and bouquet bags! Don’ sleep on Dollar Tree – they have sooo much good stuff! I also hit up the One Spot at Target for the cue banner, two tier serving tray and white heart scalloped cake stand – just $5 each!

We were celebrating Galentine’s so the menu was definitely on the sweeter side! Also, since I have a toddler and baby in a tiny galley kitchen cooking a big gourmet brunch was a bit out of my reach. Instead, I chose to focus on easy theme appropriate dishes I could throw together quickly! First up, waffles (frozen shhh…) cut in the shape of hearts and covered in pink and red heart sprinkles! Mini pancakes stacks (again frozen….) topped with whipped cream and blueberries. Fresh berries served in coupe glasses for a bit of height. A mini charcuterie board complete with heart shaped cheese from Aldi! Finally, no Galentine’s would be complete without candy hearts, tons of chocolate & pink frosted sugar cookies! Brunch was served on the cutest Rae Dunn paper plates from Homegoods!

For drinks, I put together a little Bellini bar! I saw these cute stemless champagne flutes at the Target One Spot (2 for $3) and I had to have them! I found the cutest juice jars at Dollar Tree and filled them with strawberry, mango and guava nectar (my favorite!) Each drink was topped with fresh berries and an adorable pink striped straw!

By far my favorite element of this party was the Flower Bar! It was so easy to put together and looked incredible. I picked up a mixture of tall and short vases from Dollar Tree and filled them with various flowers, fillers and greenery from Trader Joes and Jewel. Doing a Flower Bar is so easy because you spend no time arranging any flowers – you leave that to your guests to create their own bouquet! So it really is as simple as picking out your favorite bunches, cutting the stems and popping them in a vase! I also purchased bouquet bags from Dollar Tree so the girls had something to wrap their blooms in! It was something a little different and I think everyone enjoyed taking home fresh flowers!

It was an awesome day! Had a great time catching up with girlfriends, snacking on delicious treats and sipping Bellini’s! Remember, you don’t have to have a ton of money to host a beautiful event. Of course one day I’d love to throw a party with rented linens, chairs, gorgeous china, catered food and floral centerpieces perfectly curated! But, until then I’ll be frequenting Goodwill, Dollar Tree and Aldi to create my kind of perfect party!
Thank you for reading! I hope each of you take a little time to celebrate the friendships in your life during this season of love!
xoxo Britt
