Mykonos Theoxenia Hotel

After 4 days of relaxation in Santorini we were excited for a little more action in Mykonos! When booking our hotel in Mykonos the most important thing for me was location.  Did you know Mykonos only has 30 taxis? You heard right, 30 taxis.  So being within walking distance from Mykonos Town where I knew we would be eating most meals was very important to me.  The Mykonos Theoxenia is quite literally the perfect location.

Located just outside of Mykonos Town directly next to the Kato Milli Windmills you will find this hotel. Step outside and within 30 seconds you are at the windmills, within 5 minutes you can walk to Little Venice and within 10 minutes in the heart of Mykonos Town! They also offer a free airport shuttle and complimentary pick-up from the port if arriving by ferry.  The hotel has complimentary parking and arranged a rental car for us so we could explore the beaches!

Once again we lucked out with a room upgrade! Quick tip: When booking a hotel always write in the comments section if you are celebrating something. We were there for our five year anniversary and I am convinced that’s why we kept getting upgraded and champagne! Our room was small but beautifully decorated.  The best part of all was the balcony which overlooked the sea.  The water was the clearest aqua blue I had ever seen-truly gorgeous.

If you don’t feel like getting up and going to breakfast you can order coffee, juice and a pastry basket to your room complimentary.

The hotel itself has a really cool art-deco vibe.  The grounds are incredibly peaceful with beautiful landscaping.  There are little gardens all over with beautiful flowers. The buildings are a light brick with beautiful royal blue accents everywhere.  In the center of the hotel is a nice sized pool with very comfortable lounge chairs.  My favorite were the super chic white beds around the pool.

I would definitely recommend the Mykonos Theoxenia to anyone looking for a hotel in Mykonos. I truly believe the location is not to be beat. It’s walking distance from all the best spots in Mykonos Town but far enough away that it is peaceful and tranquil. It provides you with a sense of calm in the middle of the chaos that can be Mykonos Town! The rooms are a bit on the small side but nothing to be alarmed of by European standards.  The staff are wonderful, very accommodating and generous.  Overall, we loved our 3 nights spent at the Mykonos Theoxenia!
