Well we crossed the first thing off our holiday bucket list last weekend! We went to Wonderland Express at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Let me tell you, it was so cool! We will definitely be adding this to our yearly holiday traditions.
The Wonderland Express is a holiday exhibit running from November 23-January 6th. But if you plan on going before December 21st definitely buy a Groupon for it! We bought a Groupon for $29 which included parking (parking alone is $25 at the Botanic Gardens!) It included 2 adult tickets and Davis was free since he is under 3.
We ended up spending about an hour and a half there. It was the perfect outing for Davis who is obsessed with trains. Not to mention my husband and I are weirdly obsessed with miniatures (aren’t all of us a little bit?) and this place is full of adorable miniature towns and cities.
Perhaps the most unexpected part was the snow! All of a sudden I looked up and snow was falling from the ceiling. Davis couldn’t believe it was “snowing” inside. Truly magical!
Overall, I highly recommend checking out the Wonderland Express. Amazing for kids, cool for adults and a great way to spend a chilly December day inside!
