Buddha Bar Beach

I stumbled upon Buddha Bar Beach when doing some research on where to eat in Greece. I thought, sushi in Greece may actually be delicious considering we’re right on the sea? Buddha Bar Beach is located inside the gorgeous Santa Marina Resort.  This 5 star luxury resort was too rich for our blood but I’d definitely recommend a stop over to check out the grounds.

We tried eating at Buddha Bar the day before but they were closed for an event (that’s when we ended up going to Niko’s Taverna for dinner which if you read my other blog post you’d know wasn’t our favorite!) Apparently they are closed for events pretty often so I’d check before going.  Buddha Bar does offer free parking-at least it was free and plentiful when we were there.

Our meal started off on rocky ground.  We ordered the watermelon and feta salad which was not what I was expecting. The watermelon was very fresh, but I wish there’d been more of it and less greens. We then ordered two rolls to share. A spicy salmon roll and some type of shrimp tempura roll. They were both very good but to be honest not worth the price tag.  We had a lot of sticker shock when eating here as it was by far our most expensive meal of the trip (and probably the least amount of food.) If I had to do it over again I’d probably swing by Buddha Bar for a cocktail, walk around the hotel grounds a bit and call if a day!

Now for the main reason this little detour was worth it…the Santa Marina Resort! It’s full of lush greens, flowers and vegetation all around. Located right on a private beach so the views from the restaurant are fantastic.  Perhaps weirdly enough one of my favorite parts was the hallway to the elevator-it’s carved right into a mountain and has a series of lights illuminating it from the floor up.  Honestly, Gabe kept making fun of me for taking so many pictures in an elevator hallway but I couldn’t get enough!

When I saw this off the shoulder red dress at Forever21 I knew I had to have it! At only $30 it’s a steal.  I found this necklace on the sale rack at Target a few days before we left. Its Sugarfix Bauble Bar for Target and I only paid $6 for it (similar one here!) All in, this outfit cost less than $50!!

If you’re in Mykonos and have some extra time definitely swing by the Santa Marina Resort.  They have a few restaurants and I can’t comment on how the others were but Buddha Bar’s food was just OK however it’s decorated beautifully! I loved the open-air vibe, views overlooking the sea and the beachy Buddha décor.
