San Antonio Luxury Hotel

I’m having a hard time starting this post because I really don’t know where to begin.  Let me start by saying the San Antonio Hotel is perfection. Do not be put off by the name (I know I thought it was weird to stay at a hotel in Santorini called San Antonio) but after you see photos of this place, you’ll quickly get over that tiny detail.

We arrived late Saturday night and upon checking in we were pleasantly surprised they upgraded our room! We stayed in Suite #1 which was a bit secluded and had a beautiful terrace complete with our own personal hot tub.    The room itself was very large with a separate sitting area and enormous king size bed.  The one downside of this room is there was no shower only a huge jetted tub.  We had to sit on the tub floor with the removable shower head to try and rinse off each morning which was a bit interesting and made for a pretty wet bathroom floor (hello water spraying everywhere!) But this one drawback is worth it for all the other amazingness this room had to offer.

08-jkhjgsdhjcdbsdOn our first day we decided to take it easy and hang at the hotel.  What better way to kick start a baby free trip than with spa treatments?! The spa is located on the Cliffside and built right into the cave.  It’s not a huge spa, in fact it’s only big enough for 1 person or a couple to get a treatment at a time so it’s incredibly private. We decided to book a couple’s massage with exfoliation treatment-it was heavenly! The olive oil and sea salt scrub left my skin feeling baby soft. After our treatment we were able to hang out in the gorgeous hot tub and sauna.  If you’re staying at the San Antonio Hotel a trip to the spa is not to be missed.23-sdsdecv24-dcedsc25-cdcdewd26-ndskjvjksdnaskn27-cddcdcs28-jhgcgvbnmnbv

16-fvfsf17-fvfvsdaThe breakfast spread each morning is insane. Pastries, fruit, bread, Greek yogurt, sausage, mimosas, fresh squeezed juices, cappuccino, lattes, basically anything your heart desires they have.  The best part was their farm fresh made to order eggs each morning. I am not kidding when I say they were the best eggs I’ve ever had! You could literally taste how fresh they were.  Perhaps an even better part of breakfast was the view! As with most parts of this hotel the view is simply stunning.  They have a few tables perched right up to the edge of the cliff and you eat your breakfast staring out onto the caldera. It was an incredible way to set the tone for each day.18-dsdw3d19-ckknknvfv20-cdsfsdcdc21-jkhgfhjhx8uh22-San Antonio Hotel Blog Post-002Now for the main reason I booked this hotel…the infinity pool! You know all those dreamy pool photos you think of when you think of Santorini? Yea, I wanted to live that. So the first thing I searched for when booking a hotel was infinity pool and the San Antonio Hotel kept popping up.  Located in Imerovilgli it has the most stunning views of the caldera.  The pool area itself is incredibly peaceful-not a party vibe. This hotel is mostly couples and everyone has relaxation on their mind.  They serve food poolside and it was some of the best pita and tzatziki we had the whole trip!29-m,kmnbnvnmkj30-dcdscd31-dsfsef32-knffjknsd33-knjjbjbjbjb34-dsvfscsaQSW3435-kjhbvdjnsx

I won’t lie the location may be a drawback for some. You really aren’t within walking distance of many places-however driving wise you are pretty smack dab in the middle of Oia and Fira.  It has a very secluded feel to it which we actually loved.  The hotel will set up cab rides for you and charge them directly to your room which is extremely convenient and there was no upcharge for this. The hotel is also located right in front of a public bus stop. So for 2 Euros you can be in Oia of Fira within 20 minutes.  We only did this once because the bus was so full we had to stand in the stairwell and Gabe literally had a panic attack (it was scary and not fun.) The hotel offers complimentary parking and can also arrange for you to rent a car or an ATV which we took advantage of one of the days!

If you are looking for a luxury hotel in Santorini look no further than the San Antonio.  The staff is incredibly friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable.  The grounds are stunning and offer literally the most incredible views of the caldera. The infinity pool is goals.  I can’t say enough amazing things about this hotel! If you are considering booking, just DO IT!
