No trip to Montreal is complete without a stroll down Rue St. Catherine. Located in the main commercial district of Montreal, you’ll find tons of shops, restaurants and museums. We decided to check out the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
I loved this museum more than I can possibly explain! We lucked out with our visit as they had the 2 most perfect exhibits for Gabe and I. The first exhibit “Love is Love” featured Jean Paul Gaultier’s most beautiful couture wedding dresses. If you didn’t know I was wedding obsessed now you do! I walked around in awe of how interesting and creative these dresses were. The second exhibit “Revolution” was all about 1960’s music, fashion and culture. You are given headphones as you walk through the exhibit and the music changes as you enter different rooms. My favorite room was by far the Woodstock room complete with faux grass and bean bags for you to sit on while you watch footage of the concert.
After the museum we wandered down the street for lunch at Lov. I’ll admit, I usually pick restaurants based on the décor which is how we found Lov! I didn’t mind that it was a vegetarian only menu so long as it was beautiful inside and believe me it was. From the gorgeous marble tables to the pretty green leaf wallpaper every inch of this restaurant emits an airy bohemian vibe. I thought this would be the best part but we were so pleasantly surprised when our food arrived. We ordered the Burger Big LOV and could not believe there was no meat in it-it was seriously one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I would recommend this restaurant to vegetarians and meat eaters alike!
