Anyone else pick restaurants they want to try based on Instagram? No, just me?! Well, gorgeous pictures of Beatnik kept popping up all over my Instagram feed and I just knew I had to try it! I had the most amazing birthday brunch at Beatnik over the weekend.
I definitely recommend making a reservation. I snagged their first reservation on Sunday at 11AM and it was perfect! We were the first two to be seated and I was able to marvel at how gorgeous the interior was without any other people there. By the time, we finished brunch an hour later the restaurant was packed with a line to be seated!
I kicked off brunch with the perfect cocktail a Cava Cobbler. This pretty drink is made up of Elderflower, Bergamot, Bitters & Champagne. Something you’ll learn about me is I’m a sucker for Elderflower!
Now let’s talk interior, this place is a dream. It’s hard to put into words the vibe of Beatnik because it is so effortlessly eclectic. There are over 200 one of a kind pieces of furniture and fixtures that make up this stunning restaurant. Some highlights are the crystal chandeliers, a 1920’s art deco Parisian bar and a 100-year-old carved teak Balinese bench!
Obviously the décor is what got me in the door but the food is what’s prompting me to return! We started with the pork cheek fried rice. The rice was perfectly sticky and the pork cheek so incredibly tender. Our second dish was the fried chicken-a crispy chicken thigh served over pumpkin hummus-sounds like a strange combination but oh my it was perfection. We ended brunch on a sweet note with a Chai Tea Cinnamon roll, O.M.G it was so good. Dare I say, the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had. It was oohy, goohy, sweet with the subtlest taste of Chai Tea.
